Welcome to Lima, the ‘City of the Kings’. Perched above dramatic coastal cliffs, the Peruvian capital blends romantic colonial grandeur with world-renowned cuisine. Settle into your hotel and meet your Travel Director before enjoying time at leisure—perhaps visit Parque del Amor for sweeping views over Lima Bay or explore the vibrant streets of Miraflores.
Explore Lima’s highlights, including Plaza Mayor, the Cathedral, Government Palace, and the intriguing catacombs of San Francisco Monastery. In the afternoon, choose your experience: a Miraflores walking tour, a Barranco or city street-food adventure, or an evening visit to Lima’s Magic Water Fountains.
Fly into Cusco, the historic Inca capital and gateway to Machu Picchu. Admire its ornate temples and ancient ruins before heading to the Sacred Valley. Along the way, enjoy a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience at Chinchero Market, sampling local produce, tasting chicha, and meeting llamas and alpacas, before arriving at your hotel.
Today, journey to the ancient town of Ollantaytambo and board the train to Aguas Calientes, winding through the stunning Sacred Valley. From there, take a shuttle to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu, one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Explore its vast ruins and marvel at the Incan ingenuity. Later, visit Mrs. Rosa’s ancestral home, a seven-generation family residence, to learn about local traditions and guinea pig farming still practiced today.
Start the day in Pisaq, sampling local treats at a women-run empanada workshop with Mrs. Ernestina. Continue to Cusco, stopping at the 13th-century Sacsayhuamán fortress, before exploring the Incan capital’s highlights, including Koricancha, the Temple of the Sun, and the city’s exquisite Cathedral.
On your final day in Cusco, choose from a range of experiences: explore Incan farming terraces at Moray and salt mines at Maras, visit the pre-Incan Wari citadel of Piquillacta, or indulge at the Choco Museum. Discover Cusco after dark, uncover hidden streets and stories, or embark on a full-day adventure to Rainbow Mountain for a scenic hike through stunning Andean landscapes.
After a week of unforgettable experiences, bid farewell to Cusco. Depart at leisure, taking with you treasured memories, new insights, and lasting friendships.
